Anti-Bullying Ambassador Training

On Wednesday 17th July, we were joined by a trainer from The Diana Award Anti-Bullying Ambassador Programme. Students from the school council, along with exceptional students nominated by their Heads of Year, attended the training so they could become anti-bullying ambassadors for the school.

The students engaged brilliantly with the session and left with a full understanding of what bullying is, why people bully, and how they can best offer support. They also began thinking of ideas they could implement to raise money for anti-bullying programmes or even mental health programmes in Hertfordshire. We already have an idea for a bake sale during the summer concert to raise money for Mind Hertfordshire!

At the start of the session, the students showed a real desire to learn more about bullying and how to stop it, with one student asking, “What makes a bully a bully?” I was so impressed by this level of maturity and empathy, which was evident and continued to grow throughout the day.

These carefully selected students should be incredibly proud of themselves, and I can’t wait to see how they embrace their roles as anti-bullying ambassadors and help our community continue to grow and thrive.
