Celebrating Our School Community

At Laureate Academy, we value the strong partnership between parents, pupils, and staff. Here’s what some members of our community have shared about their experiences with our school:

 Local MP, David Taylor:

I have recently been contacted by a parent of a year 7 student at Laureate Academy about the remarkable difference your school has made to her daughter's education and wellbeing.

I wanted to take the opportunity to express my sincere thanks for the continued dedication and commitment shown by you and your staff.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the school earlier this year. It was a pleasure to meet you and members of your team to see first-hand the positive, nurturing environment you have created. The enthusiasm and engagement of the pupils were particularly striking and a clear reflection of the school's ethos and leadership.

The correspondence I have received reinforces what I witnessed during my visit: that Laureate Academy is providing an exceptional standard of education and support to its pupils and is widely valued by the local community.

 Our Parents:

Since coming to laureate. [My child] is now doing full days. Is staying in the classroom. Eats at break and lunchtime and is now staying in school longer to do clubs. Where as before I couldn't get her in.

The patience and support you showed her on the two transition days and also today has shown [her] she may struggle but she is truly supported and understood.

Thank you again for your support. I can't thank you enough.

Our Students:

I enjoy the variety of clubs at Laureate, especially DnD and Drama. I also enjoy the food here. There is a great variety, so everyone has a food they like.

My favourite subject is drama as we do lots of practicals. The trips are amazing too. We went to Gulliver’s Land and the rides were amazing.

There are also many good teachers to help you if you get stuck on a question. So overall, it is a good school.

Hadi A. - Year 7

The transition from primary to secondary was very easy. Laureate gave us a lot of opportunities to make new friends and I am still friends with one all the way from transition day.

The school trips are also very fun and educational. For example, going to Gulliver’s Land was an amazing trip where I made loads of memories with my friends. The disco was definitely the best part.

PE is by far my favourite subject because you get to try loads of different sports in every lesson.

Careers & Enrichment Partners:

[...] some of the best engagement and enthusiasm I've seen on any expedition.

The kids were incredible – a credit to themselves, their parents and the school, and should be very proud"

Year 10 DofE Trip Instructors

It was fantastic to see the students’ energy and creativity throughout the sessions. It was really rewarding to be part of something that helps bring these career pathways to life. Thank you for coming!

Atlas Copco

It has been a real pleasure carrying out these site visits with the students. It feels rewarding to give them exposure to a field that can be difficult to fully understand unless you work in it or experience it firsthand. The fact that we are helping the younger generation learn about construction and guiding them towards future opportunities is truly fulfilling. The students have been really helpful by engaging in giving their opinions which is quiet refreshing.

Members of the Public:

I've been prompted to write to congratulate some of your pupils.  I walk home from work between 3:30 and 4:00 p.m. on a couple of days each week.

I usually pass a few groups of boys (possibly Y9-Y11) wearing the Laureate uniform and I have been very impressed by their excellent behaviour.  They are never rowdy, never swearing or shouting and just appear to be enjoying each other's company whilst leaving school and making their way home.

They are a credit to your school and a pleasure to see.

Open Evening:

Following a two-hour tour of your school this evening, I wanted to send you an email to express my appreciation.

My daughter is neurodivergent and has an EHCP.

I have to say, your staff (including the SENCO) and pupils were absolutely amazing. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and engaging.

The atmosphere was warm and inclusive, which really stood out compared to some of the other schools we’ve visited.

A special thank you to our fantastic tour guides. They helped make the visit thoroughly enjoyable, answering all of our questions with confidence and enthusiasm. They are an absolute credit to your school.

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for the opportunity to visit Laureate Academy with my daughter this evening.

We were shown around by [three students], and I wanted to say how impressed we were with all three of them. They were polite, confident, and clearly proud to be part of Laureate Academy. It really came across how much they enjoy being at the school — they were an absolute credit to you and their parents.

We also had the chance to speak with a number of staff and see lessons taking place. Every teacher we encountered was welcoming, enthusiastic and engaging, and the students across the school seemed genuinely happy and involved in their learning.

I know the school has had a difficult reputation locally in the past, but I wanted you to know that I left feeling very reassured and genuinely impressed. It was great to see such a positive, vibrant atmosphere throughout the school.

Thank you again for the visit.
