Welcome toLaureate Academy

Libertas per cultum

Whilst at Laureate Academy we take academic excellence very seriously, we also believe strongly in the value of opportunities beyond the classroom as a means of broadening student horizons and helping them develop their interests and ambitions. Our extensive Education Enrichment Programme and wide-range of extracurricular activities is therefore designed to enrich the lives of our students whilst complementing their academic studies.

We have excellent facilities in a number of different areas, and we encourage all students to take advantage of the wide range of opportunities on offer. Normally taking place at lunchtime or after-school, these include but are not limited to:

  • A wide range of sporting activities, including practices and matches
  • A drama club and annual school production
  • Music clubs and an excellent choir
  • A library and reading club
  • Board game and chess clubs
  • STEM, history and geography activities

As of the Academic year 2019-2020, our Year 7 students will have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument free of charge. These sessions will take place after school, running for the duration of the year.  We have two annual major Music concerts: a Christmas concert in the winter term, and another one at the end of the summer term.

We also have an annual major school theatrical production, with opportunities to get involved open to students from every year group.

We are particularly proud of our STEM club, in which students have the opportunity to take part in a range of different science projects.

Throughout the year, there are also opportunities for students to broaden their knowledge and develop their leadership skills and teamwork strategies. We offer a variety of high-quality school trips and excursions, with previous highlights including a ski-trip to the USA and MFL trips to Germany.
